In his last five appearances for the Folsom Yardbirds, Corpas recorded three wins and earned one save, pitching 7 innings in relief. He struck out seven batters and allowed just two hits and three walks. In his last 20 appearances he has not allowed any homeruns while recording four wins, two losses and 8 saves. |
Carlos Pena has been named offensive player of the week for October 26, 2008. Pena launched seven homeruns, had 11 RBI and walked seven times. He hit .371 (13 for 35) over this span and helped his Vermont team win five games last week. The Lake Monsters are not having a good season but Pena has been a bright spot leading the Western Conference with 88 RBI and second in homeruns with 32 on the season. |
Randy Wolf has been named pitcher of the week for October 26, 2008. Wolf threw a complete games, two hit shutout against the hapless Casper Ghosts on October 22. He struckout 11 batters while allowing one walk and two hits. The win has helped the Rockland Reds get over the .500 mark for the season and are still in contention for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. |
Carlos Lee went 3-7 and scored a run in the first two games of the Dauvray Cup finals March 1-2, 2008. He also walked once reaching base four times in eight trips to the plate against the Cyclones pitching. He helped his Lobster team win game two to even the best of seven series at one game each. |
CC Sabathia was magnificient in his game one appearance of the Dauvray Cup finals on March 1. Sabathia pitched a complete game allowing only one run on five hits, one walk, and striking out eight North Shore hitters. The only run he gave up was on an Alfonzo Soriano solo homerun in the first inning. |
